First Quarter Moon in Virgo GUided Bath Ritual 6/7/2022
This particular First Quarter Moon is an intense, transformational one. We have the Sun in Gemini and the Moon in Virgo. Both Gemini and Virgo are Mutable signs- meaning they are signs of evolution- and they are both ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and how we interpret/share information. What both of these signs being in Mercury tells us is that how we are feeling (moon) and acting (sun) in this moment will be largely determined by how we are interpreting the information we are receiving.
We are just coming out of a Mercury retrograde, so this First Quarter Moon- the phase of action, conviction, and expression- taking place in two Mercury-ruled signs is perfect timing. What lessons did you learn during the most recent Mercury retrograde? Think of the retrograde as the messy, gooey cocoon, and now that we’re on the other side of it, we can emerge more beautiful than ever as we transform our Divine lessons and downloads into our upleveled physical actions and reality.
When Gemini and Virgo come together, we can embrace Mercury in all its glory! The Sun is comfortable in extroverted Gemini and the Moon is comfortable in introverted Virgo. But when these two come together, the contrast between what we feel and what we do can bring up some tension. While Virgo takes in information by being very methodical and analyzing everything before making moves, Gemini thrives on taking leaps and learning later. Our work in this lunation is to really analyze everything in our inner worlds and then align it with our outer world and bring it forward and out to lift our human experience towards divinity. The First Quarter Moon is a time of conviction, creativity, and action. The intentions that we set during the New Moon the week before are building and we feel the energy behind manifesting them into our reality. The Universe may be presenting you with obstacles to face before accepting your dreams into reality- are you dedicated enough to these intentions to keep doing the work? For these rituals, it is powerful to focus on Self-love, helping us be accepting of where we are and listening closely to our intuition. This ritual is about recognizing the flow of information. It all starts in the Divine. When we have nudges or lessons that we learn, it comes from Source/Higher Self/God. From there, we filter it all through our minds and interpret it how we will. And this is when the real change happens- when we take the lessons from the Divine, learn what we need to, and then take action. This lunation is about taking the lessons that we’ve learned from the recent Mercury retrograde and using Body to put it into inspired, intentional action. Being connected to Spirit is great, but doesn’t do much if you don’t take action to back it up. Bring the Divine into your reality.
Set up your bathroom to feel like a sacred space
Put away anything that will feel like a distraction. Maybe it’s your kids’ dirty laundry or the empty shampoo bottle that you keep telling yourself you can get the last drop out of. Whatever it is, it’s not the focus tonight. Put away for now and deal with it later.
