Full Moon in Scorpio + Lunar Eclipse Guided Bath Ritual 5/5/2023
Finally, we’re coming to the end of this Eclipse season! But we’re not done yet. Think of this lunation as a sort of Grand Finale, of sorts.
While all eclipses bring about sudden change, this eclipse is a LUNAR eclipse (the moon is associated with our emotions and inner world) in the sign of SCORPIO (the sign of death and rebirth). It’s also a Full Moon, which admittedly is a given if it’s a lunar eclipse, but we know that any ol’ Full Moon is going to be heightening our energy and intuition. This will affect us all differently based on our astrological birth charts, but as a general statement- stay safe out there, kids.
And I say “kids” in jest, but also seriously because this eclipse in particular is going to be bringing up some very very old habits, thoughts, and patterns that have created cycles and ways of living that we have implemented for all our lives. You may even find you have so many feelings and emotions about it, but can’t find the words to describe it. And that may be because these are energies, cycles, and habits that we had since before we were even verbal!
And that’s ok. Because those are the exact energetic and emotional drains that this eclipse is here to release for us.
Imagine a rose bush. As the rose bush grows, parts of it begin to brown, wilt, and die while the rest of it keeps growing. But if you’ve ever owned that rose bush, you know that those parts that begin to brown need to be pruned, or else the water and nutrients that need to go to the live parts of the plant will go to the already browning bits. So you trim those dead pieces off so that the rest of the plant can thrive and new buds can blossom.
Do you think that it feels good to the rose bush to be so bluntly and sharply cut away at? No, I would venture that it is quite uncomfortable, painful even, to have bits and pieces that have been a part of you forever cut away, regardless of how dead or toxic those leaves were.
So if you are releasing dead bits this Lunar Eclipse, and it is a painful transformation, your pain is valid. But keep those new, beautiful rose buds in mind as you give yourself the space to evolve. For now, just observe and listen to the messages from your wise gardener of your life- your Higher Self.
