Balance is a MYTH!!
Usually when you read about Libra, one of the first things that will come up is how they are all about “balance”. Often times, Libra is often represented by the imagery of old-fashioned balancing scales, like that associated with Lady Justice.
But here’s the thing: Balance doesn’t truly exist in nature. And the rigidity of the concept of “balance” is exactly the opposite of what Libra is actually all about. Have you ever tried to actually get a balancing scale to be truly balanced? It takes a lot of energy and attention. You have to keep adding just a bit more to one side to try to get it just right, only to tip the scales slightly to one side. The amount of time and attention that it takes to get them to be truly balanced can actually lead to a lot of frustration.
All the while, you’ve been focusing so much on the balancing, that you’ve lost sight of what it was on the scales that you were trying to focus into balance. The same goes for balancing things in your life. When you become so focused on perfectly balancing work/life, masculine/feminine, light/dark, spirituality/reality, you lose sight of being present in the duality.
And always chasing and recalibrating this idea of “balance” can actually create a lot of shame for not being able to attain it. Like we shouldn’t be enjoying our work because it isn’t perfectly balanced with our home life. Or that our femininity isn’t valid because sometimes our masculine traits come through more.
When really, Libra is not about this harsh, unforgiving concept of “balance” at all. Libra is about harmony, peace, and flow. Libra knows that there is duality in everything. A yin and a yang. This is the truth of nature. Libra wants us to find harmony in the ebbs and flows through life. They know that there will be times when the scales are tipped to one side more than the other, and that’s ok. That’s natural. It’s all about finding peace in the flow from side to side. And that’s what this Full Moon is here to shed its undeniable light on.
