Full moon in Taurus + Total Lunar Eclipse Guided Bath Ritual 11/8/2022
Things are intense right now. This moment is the climactic final chapter to this immensely transformational Scorpio & Eclipse season story, so be easy on yourself. Our focus now is about how we want to write our next story.
We have a Full Moon today, which is always a time of heightened energy and light being shed on truths we try to deny. The Moon- associated with our emotions, intuition, Higher Self, secrets and our inner worlds- has its energy amplified in all its full glory. Just like the moon, all of these facets of ourselves are always there- they’re just not in focus. We know they’re there, but can’t quite focus on them well enough to make them out from our shadows. So when the bright light of the Full Moon places an illuminating spotlight on these aspects, it can feel intense and even confrontational- likely inwardly because that’s the Moon’s domain.
The moon is in Taurus, a sign about what we consider home, our values, our bodies, and our pleasure. It’s also well-known for “stubborn”, or fixed, energy. For us during this Full Moon, this will play out as finally being able to let go of and break cycles that we have been too stubborn to release. We are being Divinely shown, clear as day, what habits and cycles we’ve clung to for too long that keep us out of alignment with our Higher Self.
But remember this is still Scorpio season, so this is not a lunation of shame around these shadows. This is a time of coming to terms with them. Being honest about their darkness and the addictions we’ve had to them. Seeing them for what they truly are, and once and for all, finding it within ourselves to love ourselves and where we’re going more than the comfort of living these old stories. And allow this eclipse to transform us and divinely realign us with all that we’ve been manifesting- our Higher Self.
And this is a total. lunar. eclipse! A Lunar* eclipse happens when the Sun and Moon are in complete opposite astrological signs from each other (AKA every Full Moon), but the Earth is perfectly between them, blocking the light of the Sun from shining and lighting up the Moon. That’s why, even though it’s a Full Moon, it appears dark in our sky, except for one bright ring around it. The energy of this transit creates an energetic vacuum, especially when it is a total eclipse rather than a partial. It will pull us- albeit chaotically and bluntly- out of our own way and back onto the path toward all of the blessings we’ve been aligning with and asking for all along.
*A solar eclipse, like the one we had two weeks ago, is the opposite phenomena that happens when the Sun and Moon are in the same sign (AKA New Moon) and they are in perfect alignment so the Moon actually blocks our view of the Sun’s light. These happen during the day more rarely, so we don’t view them as often. But they do occur generally a couple times a year.
